Local artist donates Renee Zellweger
original to Greenville's Children's Museum

Renee Zellweger signs the painting on a recent visit to Greenville.

On March 27 Renee Zellweger and George Clooney visited Greenville to receive the keys to the city revolving around the movie “Leatherheads” which they filmed together and will be premiering April 4.

Jared Emerson, a local artist, had the opportunity to meet with Renee who authorized Jared to portray her likeness on canvas. Once Jared completed his rendering he met with Renee once again to approve of the work and endorse the piece.

The painting is a 30 x 40 oil on canvas, which portrays Renee in character for her leading role in “Leatherheads”.

The painting has been donated by Jared Emerson to benefit the children’s museum of Greenville, South Carolina.

The piece will be available for viewing and will be auctioned April 4 during the premier located at Regal Hollywood 20.

Bids are being submitted online via e-mail through the Children’s Museum Web site at tcmgreenvillesc.org. and at yourcarolina.tv. The museum is hoping to raise in excess of $10,000.  Donations may also be submitted online.

You may view additional art work and meet the artist in person at his studio at Riverplace located at 300 River Street, Suite 107 in downtown Greenville or online at thejaredcollection.com.
