Extra! Extra!

Cops were gambling fools

Manny Perez wasn’t going to waste a second day at Winston-Salem, North Carolina on the Speakeasy Tavern set doing nothing. So Manny brought a deck of cards to play Texas Hold ‘em poker during lulls of filming.

Manny picks up the story:

“We had a game going when one player went all in and I really was getting into this hand. We all were.

The player flipped over his cards and he had a full house. The other guy also had a full house. We all yelled in excitement and the next thing I heard was ‘Cut!’

"A lady came up to see what was going on and you could tell in her eyes she meant business. She didn’t say a thing. As she got nearer the other extras were pointing their index fingers at us. She didn’t ask any questions and we didn’t say anything. I thought for sure we would be kicked off the set.

"It was an amazing poker hand and we all got into it. She left without finding out about us. I hope we didn’t ruin the scene. All I could think about was being a part of this great movie experience and being kicked out.

"At the end of the day, all of the cops were laughing because it was so hilarious. But it sure wasn't funny earlier in the day."
