About Jeff
Casting Call: My wife was watching the news and saw they needed men for the “Leatherheads”. She insisted that I go. I was hesitant, but went anyways. Turned out, they needed me. I was sent to wardrobe in Statesville and I loved the whole experience.
Performances: Travelers Rest, Charlotte, and Salisbury Train Station.
Characters: Reporter and a Fan
Hometown: Greenville, South Carolina
Hobbies: Cars
First check: I made a copy of it, and then I cashed it!
Acting experience: “I work concerts and Broadway shows, I see a lot of acting and what goes on behind the scenes. I have experience with props and the way things work to make a show look real!”
Family: Wife, Bobbie of 20 years. Children: Two daughters: Jami and Hannah, One Grandson: Micheal
Extra: Jeff, Bobbie, and Jami Skinner (pictured above)
Family extras: My wife Bobbie and daughter Jami also earned a part as an extra.
We Laughed: During one of the scenes being shot, there was a Paparazzi hiding in the woods dressed in camouflage. He was spotted and the biggest football player on the team, Big Gus, took off chasing him. All of the fans clapped and cheered him on.
What surprised me the most about how the movie was produced? Was how Clooney and the other directors explained how the scene would play out and what they needed from us. I enjoyed that. Clooney is an awesome director!
Did I maneuver myself closer to the camera? Well of course I did. Wouldn’t you? I had a friend who was a stand in, Jerry Reed; He was watching the Daily and would tell me where to be when they needed to film a retake. “Thanks Jerry!”
New friends I most remember: I met the former Mayor of Simpsonville, South Carolina (Wayne Davis) and his wife (Louise Davis). They were so sweet. We talked for hours. I could never hear enough of the stories they told me. I hope to see them again one day!
Would I work for Clooney again if his company called me? Yes, without a doubt. It was a great experience, with a wonderful director. I have to thank my wife for insisting I go to the casting call.
