Rest.
A career is launched: Adam is interested in making more movies,
acting and art.
It’s a cut: When Adam returned home he would watch movies
and say, “It’s a cut” when scenes changed and other
terminology learned on set.
It’s not a cut: Adam didn’t want any part of the
1920s short hairstyle. A caring stylist protected his image with
longer than normal hair.
Smiling faces: Adam had his braces removed one day before
filming started.
Hair today, almost gone tomorrow
The hair stylists on the set of “Leatherheads” didn’t
have a problem telling men their facial hair would have to go and
haircuts were going to be styled like the Roaring 20s.
But Adam Myers, 11, must have sent off some clear-cut vibes he didn’t
want his hair cut like the older characters. “Adam didn’t
like having his hair cut before going on set,” said his mom
Kelly. “His bangs had grown to where they came down below his
chin.
Adam got a caring stylist and his hair was trimmed and some of his
bangs saved by combing them to one side of his face. When you see
“Leatherheads” look for the boy with the bangs hanging
down , outside his cap. That will be Adam.
Adam and his brother, Austin, enjoyed about a week’s worth
of filming the movie and got into a lot of scenes. Clooney handpicked
them.
Clothes were hot! So were Adam’s roles
Adam was among the boys running through the antique cars parked
at the entrance to Ennis Field (the name given to the field at Travelers
Rest). Adam and Austin were playing tag in their stylish clothing.
Adam wore a brown outfit with knickers. He wasn’t particularly
fond of them but he was reminded it was only a movie. Except this
movie had Oscar winners George Clooney and Renee Zellweger starring.
Adam told his mom the knickers were hot and itchy. He said he
preferred regular pants.
Adam was filmed sitting between fans when Clooney (Dodge) crosses
in front and begins talking to Zellweger (Lexi). Zellweger is sitting
on the wall, reading a newspaper. The props department let Kelly
wear a headset to listen in on the conversation as they were filming
with her son.
When Adam returned to school after the filming his friends elevated
him to the top of their “popularity scale.” Some treated
Adam like a star asking if they could carry his books! |
