About Laura
Native: Born and raised in England.
Age: 18
School: Ware Shoals High School, Ware Shoals, S.C.
Future: Planning on attending college.
Interests: Art, ceramics, music and cosmetics.
Special interest: One of the male cheerleaders for the Chicago team!
The wedding planner: Laura loved the Bridget Jones series starring Renee Zellweger. Laura wanted to ask Zellweger to do “Bridget Jones’ Wedding”.
No. 1 cool! Classmates hung on every word as Laura described the movie scenes and what she did. Of course, stars are always sought out!
Too hot: The wardrobe and costumes weren’t exactly cool to the touch. But Ware Shoals was make-believe Duluth, Minnesota for a few days, right?
Too early: Late to bed, early to rise, Laura had a hard time opening her eyes!
About George: “I thought he looked ‘rough’. I didn’t like his grungy look for this movie. I prefer his ‘slick, clean-cut look’ like in the Oceans movies

Star treatment is nice work when you can get it
Laura Hine said she’s not complaining. Being treated like a star certainly has its benefits. “I loved getting my hair and makeup done,” said Laura.

Laura joined Kelly Myers and her sons Adam, Austin and Matthew during filming for “Leatherheads” and said she enjoyed the experience. Laura is Kelly’s cousin’s daughter who lives with Kelly and her sons. So it was an “all in the family” cast that came to the set to try for some exposure on the big screen.

One of the drawbacks to being an extra was the early morning casting calls. They began about 5 a.m. so that meant about a 3-3:30 a.m. wakeup call for most. But Laura also noted there were some benefits. “I liked getting to meet new people, seeing how the movie gets set up, and knowing what the movie scenes are before the rest of the world,” said Laura. All filming for “Leatherheads” was a closed set. No media or fans were allowed and tight security prevailed.

Perks far outweighed the minuses
Laura enjoyed seeing the A-listers, George Clooney and Renee Zellweger up close. But unlike her two young cousins, Adam and Austin, she didn’t get a chance to talk to either star.

The friendships made in the holding area were atop Laura’s “favorite” list. She met two scorekeepers and a couple of people on the sidelines. She met “a great friend, Marie, who was also a fan.

Laura said she would do it all over again if given the opportunity.
